Day 9 - Gostwyck

Gostwyck is another big family sheep station near Armidale, established by Henry Dangar (1796-1861). Henry was a free settler who arrived in Australia aboard the ‘Jessie’ in 1821. This little chapel commemorates Major Clive Collingwood Dangar MC, Henry’s youngest grandson, who was killed in World War 1, aged 36.

The wall is to protect the chapel against flood.
