Strangers in a strange land

Arrived in Portugal today. It’s an emigrant enclave around here : this Italian-owned pizza joint populated primarily by Brits and Germans of all ages, though grey hair predominates. I liked the look of these two English ladies and the light through their hair & very interested to know their stories, but not close enough to fully eavesdrop.
