The Avenue Bridge

The once very grand bridge over the Shropshire Union Canal, which carried the Avenue drive to Chillington Hall from Coven.  There aren't many canal bridges with stone balustrades.

We took advantage of the route for a walk under the tree canopy on what has been a very warm and pleasant day.  I was really surprised how the area has become overgrown to the point where the arrow straight drive which goes for almost 2 miles, no longer provides extended views along its length.
