Reminiscing...
We had to say good bye to another friend and workmate this morning. It is happening way to often it seams. Such a final event.
After we went home and checked on Sugar we had some errands to run so while we were in town we picked up some carry out chicken dinners and a milkshake and headed to my mothers. She was delighted to get the chocolate shake. She also ate her whole meal. She sat at the table and told stories of her childhood and traveling to Connecticut with her uncle to visit her cousin who went into the convent at age 16. They would pack the 1928 Franklin with all the food they could come up with and head north. All the kids would get a chance to go on a trip two at a time and there were a lot of kids in the family. So she talked and we listened. Hubby also filled the truck with brush he cut the last time we were there. We still have at least one more truck load to haul away.
To end the day we stopped by my friend Shirley's home to collect some plants she was willing to share with me and some hollyhock seeds. She has a few serious illnesses but was working in the garden when we arrived. Her gardens are just beautiful. So another day is gone and so is another friend but we spent time with loved ones and friends and I have to say it was a sad but nice day after all. Hope yours had some high spots as well.
