Dragonfly day

It was hot and very windy - No weather warning for high winds ???
The trees are shredded a few broken branches and everywhere covered in green leaves torn from the trees.

The warm day did make it a butterfly and dragonfly day and despite the gusts they were able to fly and find food.

The photo is a Common Darter dragonfly we had both a male and female in the garden and our resident Southern Hawker was also zooming around but did rest eventually (extra photo)

Butterflies included Large White, Green-veined white, a larger number of Speckled Wood and a few Peacocks plus single Red Admiral and one quick flypast by a tiny Holly Blue.
