They are there!

The silliest photo, but the only one I could manage to record a special moment in our day.

For a while today we stood at the patio door and watched as a group of House Martins flew around between our trees. Wheeling, swooping, diving and chirping away all the time. At first we were not absolutely certain they were House Martins, but Merlin soon confirmed it. We think they were young ones practising flying and generally playing, as they kept swooping towards each other and around each other. They will have to be ready to fly to Africa in a few weeks. 

It was a mesmerising thing to watch, but the only photo I got was this one - there are two birds! It will have to do as a record.
