More Peas, Please!
I've been a little disheartened by my garden this year -- the bean plants are yellow and stunted, the tomato vines have stopped growing, and each pumpkin vine has only 4 or 5 anemic-looking leaves on it. The peas, on the other hand, seem to be thriving, probably because we've had such a cool summer so far.
My daughter noticed the first pea pod on our vines about 5 days ago. She's been asking every day if we could pick them and eat them, and today, a few of them finally felt round enough to harvest. Not quite enough to serve with dinner, but eaten raw, they made the perfect afternoon snack!
Oh, not much sun today, but NO rain! Phew.
