Driveway Spider

I noticed a sizable spider blocking my path to my car door this morning.
It was nicely illuminated by the bright sunlight. 
I carefully set my water bottle down and retrieved my camera for a crouched-down photo while Kathy patiently waited in the car.
I managed to open my car door and step over the spider to climb in carefully so as to avoid disturbing it.
Kathy and I drove off, at last, for our walk around the Delta Ponds Park. 
When we returned, I parked in the driveway as usual and opened the car door to find the spider in exactly the same position. 
Like the Monty Python parrot, this spider was "resting".
