Ataturk Square

As I found out last time, Ataturk was the founder of modern Turkey and is a revered figure here.

There is a walkway in central Ankara with loads of fountains. Plaques on each side of these fountains record significant events in the life of Ataturk. One side in Turkish, the other in English. It tells a story.

At the end of the walkway is a triangular structure lit in different coloured lights. Quite pretty.

Clearly the designers knew something of the impact of the sound of water on some folk. Public toilets are nearby.
