Celebration

Today we drove over to MK for our friends' S&G's joint 70th birthday and 30th wedding anniversary celebrations.  This was for all their oldest friends; all of us had known them for at least all of their married life and G and I have known each other for 49 years since we worked together.  There was one older friend there, who G had been to university with.  A lovely day, and no chance to actually post this on the day itself.

We had a slightly odd drive over with hold-ups on the road firstly for around three fire engines and assorted other appliances and crew who were attempting to get a horse out of a ditch (the horse was standing up and looked OK, but just couldn't get up the side of the ditch), then later for a large steam Showman's Engine which had slipped off the back of a lorry.  Only one wheel but it was at a strange angle which would take some time to resolve, and finally for one lane of the road closed for flooding following an intense thunder storm the night before.

We'll visit a couple of places in MK today before heading home again later.
