Parchment

The old parchment factory buildings in Havant.  Homewell Spring (see Extra) is located next to these buildings and enabled water from the chalk downs to be used to create high quality parchment.  The earliest record of parchment making here is from the late 1700s.  You'll possibly not be surprised to learn that Havant was also renowned for its glove making industry.

Another grey damp day until late afternoon when the sun appeared and gave us some wonderful brightness and warmth.
