Fruit of late summer

The man was selling figs and prickly pears. This fruit is usually sold peeled, which is great because prickly pears have lots of thorns and it is difficult to peel them without pricking your fingers.
If I ever buy them without having being peeled I have to peel them with a fork and a knife, as I did last August.
