End of the run...
Having won five test matches in a row this summer, England were brought back down to Earth with a bump today as Sri Lanka inflicted an eight wicket defeat on them. There will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth by many overpaid pundits and journalists, but at the end of the day it's not a sign of the coming Apocalypse, it's just a rather below par performance from a team who the same critics were praising to the Heavens just a few short days ago.
Main shot is of man of the match Pathum Nissanka guiding a ball from Gus Atkinson down to third man to bring up a wonderful century. In extra number 1 Nissanka raises his arms to acknowledge the applause of the crowd, while in extra number 2 he cuts a ball to the boundary to seal the victory.
