The Scavengers

Today we visited Lyme Park in Cheshire. This is a National Trust property which might be recognised by Jane Austen fans as the magnificent house was used in the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice (Mr Darcy's pad).

We had lunch in the park and were surrounded by the wily crows (or rather, jackdaw, as pointed out by the clever Mr I below) who would leap on each table the moment someone moved away. 

I think this particular bird thought all his birthdays and Christmases had come at once.
