The accidental finding

Glimpsed from a moving vehicle

In County Durham! Left home at 8am by taxi, got on a coach near the motorway, D joined further up the M5, then we motored on up the M5, M42, and M1, stopping now and again for food or loo breaks. There is loads of room on the coach, so D and I have our own double seats. I managed to listen to a podcast or two while D slept.

As we moved through Yorkshire and into Co. Durham, we began to see more scenery, even from the motorway: fields with hay bales, lines of trees, distant hills. I snapped this tree at soeed on the road to Bishop Auckland, where our hotel is located (on the outskirts, to be fair). Though not a looker from the outside, we have everything we need inside: good sized rooms, heating, great food. I've had a relaxing evening with D and some of our party at dinner, and plenty of TV time, though I keep falling asleep!

Goodnight, all. Durham awaits tomorrow.
