That was a bit of a challenge
If this looks a bit blurred I can explain why. We dropped our travelling companions at the Aran Islands ferry and went off to amuse ourselves. Tried a local cave but decided that I wouldn’t cope with the steps back up. So instead we did a drive to Lehinch in the interests of nostalgia. Couldn’t recognise it. Partly faulty memory and partly we think a road closed that we had driven when we were here about 40 years ago.
Back to Doolin for a cruise along the base of The Cliffs of Moher. Rough seas and we were soaked by a couple of rogue waves. Hence the soggy camera and the smudged lens.
A quick lunch and we picked our friends up and went for coffee. Decided against the top of the cliffs. Unimpressed by the idea of a €10 euro each charge. However we found a couple of scenic routes and even managed to drive right through a murmeration of starlings taking off from an adjacent field (thrilling).
Back to our B&B for a shower and a warm up before going out for dinner in Lisdoonvarna. Grumpy pub landlord. Nice Guinness.
Back to play cards, drink wine and get ready for moving on.
