Prepping the Field
The Stoltzfus family cheese farm is a Charles County Agritourism project that is growing close to our house. This Amish family has converted a massive cornfield into a self-sustaining farm. They are growing corn to feed the cows that produce the milk for the cheese. In the past two years, they have built two barns, erected two silos, and a house, and have brought in a herd of beautiful cows.
The corn has already been harvested and now the field is being groomed for the next planting.
I loved that Mr. Stoltzfus tipped his hat to me when I took his picture (extra.)
