Finished

Although it was primarily a working day for me, the main event of the day was the departure of the builders, as their work on the house has finished, at least for now. The staircase painting is done, the carpet is down, the kitchen is complete, and the patio has been installed. Two or three bits of decoration for us to do, and everything is then done save for the hallway. We are taking a break before doing the floors there.
May be a project for next year.
