River of Flowers

Tuesday: Silver and Purple

Up very early this morning, MrD had an appointment in Wrexham. I had a leisurely breakfast watching “Gardeners World” on iPlayer.

Rain was forecast and I had one urgent job to do whilst it was still dry - collected the ripe seed “cheeses” of Malva sylvestris “Mystic Merlin” - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3275067 - there were a few spots of rain, by 10am it was raining …! Rain continued until early afternoon, when MrD arrived back, having called in on family and done some window shopping!

Also before the rain, I took today’s Blip which started off as cuttings of Anthemis punctata (another favourite plant with such happy memories) - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2443501396994035320 - the cuttings are in a jar of water and have already sent out tiny roots. I’d accidentally cut a stem of the purple Verbena bonariensis and popped it in with the Anthemis cuttings, deciding that they made a very pleasing combination I’ve cut a few more flowers to brighten up the kitchen on a grey day :-)

Temperature around 13°C, which was ok.

More episodes of “Line of Duty” …
