Underground, overground, rambling free

Out for a little walk at lunchtime to run an errand, but I forgot to take my purse, which was a trifle embarrassing when I got to the shop counter.

On the way I was looking down, as I'm now wont to do because history and because bloomin' Kirkintilloch stuff :-) and spotted this, which isn't Kirkintilloch at all but is very much me ripping off BikerBabe's style.  It's marked PO for Post Office telecoms and is apparently a type 4C cover for footway applications.  The most interesting thing I found out is that the cover weighs nearly 70kg, so I didn't try lifting it out of curiosity!

Since it wasn't raining this evening, and because petrol is down a bit in price, I motored out to fill Fidra's tank.  The dashboard told me it was 9ºC, and frankly it felt even colder than that.  I was just wearing my summer gloves because I wasn't going very far, but I needed my heated grips turned right up.  Brrr!
