What A Difference A Day Makes

A much more settled day today so we walked around Grasmere Lake.  Beautiful!

A nice lunch, a rest and then a walk to a National Trust property on the outskirts of Grasmere village.  It's called Allan Bank.

It's very different to most Trust properties in that there is no historic furniture.  The house has lovely views of the lake and it has a very relaxing atmosphere.  People are encouraged to read, draw, play board games  relax, have a cuppa, play the piano etc.

Last time we went we saw a red squirrel. Sadly  no such luck today.

Then it was back to the hotel for scones with jam and cream and a read of our books.  A very enjoyable day.
