Embarked on another attempt to figure out how much performance we are getting from our infrastructure. The first step was to measure raw network performance between two nodes on the same switch. A single process gives us about 30Gbit/s. With multiple processes we can saturate the link. Next on the menu will be NFS and SMB performance. Benchmarking depends on the access patterns. I will take a very naive approach to get a rough idea of what we can expect.
