Will and the Apple Tree
Today's the day ...................... to pick
Will decided to start picking the apples from one of the trees in the garden that I wrote about before.
He probably spent a couple of hours doing it, but he was also pruning the tree as he went - so he won't have to do it early next year. The apples were quite big and in good condition. They were crisp and white inside - a bit like a cox apple - but a bit on the tart side to eat raw. Unfortunately, we know they won't keep even if we wrap them carefully and put them away in boxes to store.
The total weight of apples from this one tree was around 80lbs. That's quite an amount of fruit to find a good home for?! Oh well - there's only another six trees to go .......................
