The French seem much more "logical" in their naming than us? Take for instance:-
If it shields you from the Sun - it's a Parasol.
If it shields you from the Rain - it's a Paraplui.
They, equally logically, call these "Tournesol" because they turn to face the "Sol". - - EXCEPT - - in a High wind, when they seem to become "Tournevent". As most of these have.
BUT just like us - "There's always one". The bulk have been turned by the wind, except the odd cussed critter which prefers to follow the Sun rather than the Wind.
