Alive or Dead

This oak tree, which may be two oak trees growing side by side. is completetly dead on one side and seems perfecttly healthy on the other. Taken from this angle this afternoon, in the late afternoon sunshine, I was surprised by the extent to which the living seems to replicate the shape of the dead.
