82 YEARS?!?

And it's taken until now to notice that the two pointed in different directions.
Until that Gormless German gent with the minuscule moustache misappropriated it, it was a holy symbol:-
"In Hinduism, the right-facing symbol (clockwise) () is called swastika, symbolizing surya ('sun'), prosperity and good luck, while the left-facing symbol (counter-clockwise) () is called sauvastika, symbolising night or tantric aspects of Kali."   (As far as I know, it might still be.)
I've just checked - "Jung Adolph" was a mere youth of 17 Summers when this was printed so don't go maligning Kipling.

Do you like Kipling?

I don't know, I've never Kippled.

Comical aside - all my life the "ow" in Mowgli has been like the ow in Cow.  Suddenly, with the advent of the internet I hear most of the world calling him Moagli.  Check online and he seems to be a ratio of about
10-11:1 Moagli:Mowgli.  I'll not change now particularly, in my mind "Mowgli, the Frog" sounds more "Froggy" than "Moagli the Frog"?
