Lost in Thought

Dustanburgh from Craster

Much better weather today so we cycled to Dunstanburgh beach, around to Craster and then on to Howick hall and garden.

Dunstanburgh is much more to my taste than Alnwick castle (yesterdays blip) and Howick Hall was a delight.  the seat of the Earls Grey as in the tea.

The 2nd Earl was PM in ~1832, the time of the Great Reform Act - which introduced many of our modern democratic systems - though not votes for women!  His opponent was the Duke of Wellington - being a good military tactician not necessarily qualifying someone to run the country?

Caveat Emptor - historical comments in this journal might just possibly be influenced by my opinions :-)

Thanks to everyone who has called by my journal recently and left comments, stars, and favourites.
All much appreciated.
