In other not-being-used-for-the-designated-task news I managed to get a nigglesome blockage unblocked this afternoon with the scripting equivalent of anchoring things to each other with cable-ties and a few old bits of bolts from the corners of a toolbox. It might be a bit lumpy and inelegant but seems to work and was interesting to do.
