Gooseberries

This year's crop amounted to less than a couple of pounds, rather disappointing compared with past years. However, taking account of the very late spring and the recent period of hot dry weather preventing the berries from swelling, this may not be so surprising.
On the plus side, there is little evidence of sawfly this year; I really do need to prune the bushes, though.
