Rakaia Gorge Walkway

We followed the rim of the Rakaia River where it is forced into a narrow canyon on its way from the mountains to the sea. That's called the Rakaia Gorge, with its glacial and river-carved terraces on show from our vantage points on the track, high above the river.  Snow on the Mt Hutt Range provided a backdrop for the turquoise colour of the water.  A day well spent in the great outdoors!
