At Ughill
Two of us from the Photo Society had earmarked this morning for some of the documentary work that we're doing with the local Wildlife Trust. They need images each quarter, from a specific set of monitoring points around Ughill Farm - the hill farm that the Trust bought recently. The aim is to capture the gradual changes and environmental improvements that the Trust hopes to bring about. This is a sample image from this morning' s set. I like the way you can see the contrasts in the land here.
A complete circuit of the farm, capturing all the vantage points, is a good 10km walk. Phil and I had a lovely time: sunshine alternated with light cloud, but there was little wind (it can be really exposed up at Ughill). After a bit of faffing around early on, while we checked some map details, we moved quite quickly from one monitoring point to another. We share interests in documentary photography, so there was plenty to talk about.
Phil's a brisk walker too, which helped me to keep up a reasonable pace.
A lovely September day.
