A notice

I fell into a dead sleep after I got back from this morning.

The rain was horrendous, like the contents of a full bath tipped all over me when I was out. I had a diabetic appointment. And I was nervous because of the way the previous nurse had been a month earlier disregarding my requests for her to face me when talking which she had ignored again and again. So, my creative for today is not a picture but some words I was working on, to try and explain fuller to an appointment person who might be ignoring my lack of hearing/hearing abilities just because I can speak well.

I did complain last month.

What a difference this month!

I go to reception, the receptionist is accommodating to my deafness immediately. She is completely new. She knows S.S.E. (Sign supported English), so she could get better through to me what she was saying, because there were some complications with the appointment.

I am in shock!

I am waiting in the waiting room with several other people (they have changed the system where we wait). There is a completely different atmosphere about the place. A much nicer friendlier atmosphere, with people coming out for their patients/clients, and greeting them in a friendly talkative manner instead of the curtness that was there before. And walking with the client/patient having a conversation with them before they reached the treatment/whatever room. room. The same happened for me. We went through some security doors first on the way to her room, and I took the opportunity (for the fist time) to stop and show her the written bit I had been working on, on the back of my deafness card on my sunflower lanyard, (which is for hidden disabilities).

(A lot of work went into that with many variations, and I settled on that version).
She read it. We are still in the corridor, because I cannot talk and lipread while walking. I expanded on the "Distractions" which I explained could mean her tapping on her lips with a pen or finger, or her turning away from me, or a busy room with interruptions from others walking in and out...
She thought it explained my needs well.
And when we got to her room, we got on well, I didn't hear/work out/or understand everything she said, but it was as if she was mentally reading that card, when possibly she saw a blank look on my face, and she adjusted immediately, and rephrased etc.
For the first time ever in my life, my blood pressure was good when being taken by a nurse, 112/69.

So, I took control initially here, but did it before we got into her room.

It was a good appointment for me.

She kindly took my blood to save me making an appointment online, and going to the blood vampire lady another time, and will get back to me, by text.

A most successful morning.

She remarked I was soaked to the skin, and that I needed to get changed immediately.

I felt really ill because of the cold and wet. As soon as I got home, I changed clothes, and went to bed with an electric blanket and fell into a deep sleep. It is now 4 hours later.

Have a good day.
Day is nearly over here.
I haven't done much, but in a way I have.
I intend to have a full day to myself tomorrow...

Take care...
