Stuff and Nonsense

Henllys Hall

Todays blip is the only shot I’ve taken and I’m glad I took it as my backup blip as it has poured down all the way home. It’s Henllys Hall which used to be the site of Llanfaes Friary back in 1237 until 1538. The land then became part of an estate on which, in 1623, Rowland Whyte built a house which he called Friars. After a couple of owners it was rebuilt and during WW2 it was requisitioned for wartime use to house engineering workers. After the war Hanllys Hall was owned by a Franciscan order during the 1950’s, before becoming a hotel and in 2003 pecan a part of the Holiday Property Bond portfolio.

We’ve had a lovely week. We’ve probably not done as much as we would normally cram in with having Mum with us, but the main thing is that we have all enjoyed each others company.
