In case we ever want to come back again!
Update. Just added view from our appt, totally illuminated by lightning. See bottom of text.
Oh, what a night. Heavy (very loud) thunder from the wee sma hours until about 11am, then with an almighty flash, bang, wallop, the heavens were torn assunder by fork and sheet lightning then torrential rain until about noon, when it eased off a bit, sufficient to allow a well clothed walk into town.
We visited the museum of ancient glass, housing thousands of millenia old glass containers of all sorts of shape, sizes and origins, dating back to 1500 years BC. Much were quite utilitarian, as perhaps foretold their mid 20th century architectural monstrosities. Thankfully a good number were a bit more aesthetically pleasing. Can't understand why I chose not to photograph any.
Lunch was taken by the harbour (sanny n' beer ) then back to the ranch for some relaxing by the pool.
Writing this at 20:00 hrs whilst being subjected to yet another biblical storm the likes of which I have never seen, and of which, frankly, I am scared.
Shit. This building has just been shaken by the big bang, and it wasn't any theory.
Hope to still be here in the morning.
Extra: Post modern brutalist architecture.
