Arran afternoon
After an 8 hour trip on PS Waverley, including a couple of hours ashore in Brodick, I was hard pressed to choose a photo for today's blip. I think it's a sign of sentiment/weakness/predictability that I've chosen this one, of Brodick Bay from the pier, rather than one of Millport or something more consciously arty; this is the view of my childhood, as well as some of the happiest holidays of my adult life.
I couldn't help noticing that although the village changes, and the beach itself has changed enormously since I was young, the surrounding hills are powerfully timeless. (Yes, I know that's an obvious statement, but nonetheless ...)
A glorious day from beginning to end.
