Machrie Moor

We went to Kildonan at the south of Arran to see the ‘dinosaur footprint(s)’. In fact they were made by a Chirotherium, a 12-foot long crocodile-like reptile, that lived in the Triassic period 270 million years ago. It took us a few minutes to locate the best print, first extra, but it was worth it. The second extra is it in context on the beach with Ailsa Craig in the background. We then drove to the west coast to see the standing stones on Machrie Moor. As it was evening light they looked good in the low light with the hills of north Arran in the background, so I chose that for the blip.
