River lily

Also called crimson flag lily, Hesperantha coccinea,  South African native.

Swim first, at the Drumsheugh Baths. A grade A listed swimming pool and surrounding building built in 1882 on the edge of the steep valley into the Water of Leith; lots of steps. No ADA compliance here ...
Met the Heriot Row cat on the way out and the way back (in extra). It approached me for strokes and appreciation.

Afternoon walk to the Botanics. Not so windy as yesterday, some sunshine, 12C high, an occasional spit of rain. There are autumn crocuses out in many places, in varying shades of purple; at least three different varieties. The blip is an iris family autumn flowering lily, in the rockery garden.
Two swans and tufted ducks at Inverleith pond; also more than a dozen oystercatchers on the cricket pitch. Have been seeing them inland for the last week or so on different fields.
