At last!
To think that the first Small Tortoiseshell I see this year should be feasting on autumn's Michaelmas daisies! But it was so good to see, and apparently our brother-in-law saw two this morning when he was walking their dog. The flowers were also visited by a constant stream of small white butterflies.
Our kind visitors joined me in the garden this afternoon, helping with weeding and dead-heading, while Mr PP ferried our daughter to Peterborough hospital for a treatment on her foot. He delivered her home with fish and chips for her and family, and brought the same for us. We were all too full for the freshly culled and becrumbled rhubarb and apple from the garden, so that lives to fight another day.
Have a good weekend, blipmates.
