wild fire

this afternoon we spotted a fire from the balcony. The ground around here is very dry and today there were gusts of up to 70 kph and we could see it moving rapidly along the next valley to us. Luckily the wind was not blowing in our direction. Soon there were lots of planes flying directly over the house on their way to drop water over the area as well as helicopters carrying buckets of water.  The nearby village of Castelnou was evacuated and in all about 400 hectares burnt but thankfully I believe there was no loss of life.
