Cherries

It's the time for BC cherries and blueberries again. They are so delish that the kids can literally eat them all day long.

OO is old enough to spit out the cherry pits, but little A can't quite do it yet. Being the typical little sister, she wanted to be just like OO, and refused to let us take the pit out for her. She managed to spit out large chunks of cherry with the pit, but she also managed to swallow a few whole cherries. OO saw the danger in that and pushed the bowl of cherries as well as the pits out of reach, and started to eat half of the cherry and gave the other pit-free half to little A. Even though little A didn't want us to help, she gladly accepted her sister's offer.

I used to see parenting as us parents teaching the kids, but I'm increasingly realizing that my kids too, are teaching me plenty of lessons. I truly admire OO's protective and nurturing nature, because when I was her age, I was probably oblivious of the needs of those around me. I wish I could say I have done something right raising her, but truth is, I think she is born with this big heart.
