Bridal Wreath Spiraea….

This lovely shrub is flowering in my garden. Another treasure of spring. It has several names, the botanical being Spiraea cantoniensis; signifying the shrub’s origin in China. It is also known as Reeve’s Double Spiraea. It flowers in May in the northern hemisphere, consequently known as the May Bush.
A grey day for the most part with some drizzle this evening. Cool too. I have the wood burner lit tonight. Friends supplied me with two big bags of lovely clean pine cones this morning.
