A visit to Tramway ...

... on the southside of the city.
This arts venue has quite a history.
It started off in 1893 as Coplawhill tram shed. By the beginning of the 20th century it was Glasgow's main tram terminus, depot and factory, remaining so until the demise of the trams in the early 60s.
In 1964 it became the city's transport museum. In 1986 the museum moves to Kelvinhall (Riverside is now the transport museum). 
The building was saved from demolition in the late 1980s and transformed into it's current use as an International arts venue. It still retains many signs of it's original use including the ramp to the upper floor (thumbnail) where the horses that pulled the trams were stabled.
At the back of the building where the work sheds used to be is the Hidden Garden dedicated to peace.
