Chatwin
Saturday Tableau.
At work for the overnighter, a little break in Waitrose with a coffee, a book and ingredients for tonight's tea - tagliatelle with anchovies, parsley, chilli and breadcrumbs.
When I was a student in the late 80s I used to covet the white-spined Picador paperbacks so much, especially admiring the prominence they had in Sheffield's Independent Bookshop. One of the authors who appeared regularly in their displays was Bruce Chatwin. I've read a couple of his since those student days but not this one, a slim volume that I picked up at Oxfam Books earlier in the week.
