Jess

Lovely Jess, Richard's friend since the 1980s, and later mine too. Some weeks ago I mentioned her death from cancer.
Today was her memorial gathering in Llangoed, near the home in Menai Bridge that she'd shared with husband Brian. This is one of Brian's photos, one of several hanging in the village hall where we all remembered Jess.
To my huge relief, I'd recovered enough from yesterday's sickness to make the journey. Thanks to everyone who posted sympathetic good wishes about that - they worked :-)
It was a good gathering. Singing by a local choir, bringing many of us to tears. Reminiscences from family and friends, bringing laughs and jolts of recognition. It's still difficult to take in that she's gone. Brian's organised with the local Wildlife Trust to plant a small area of mixed woodland in her memory, using donations from family and friends. A good memorial.
