Breaking things beautifully

The Grand Rapids Contemporary Art Museum has a typography exhibit featuring this collaboration of typographer, Craig Ward and photographer Jason Tozer.

They did it the old fashioned way with an 8-ball and panes of glass.

Craig Ward screen printed his typography onto 20 sheets of 7mm glass. Jason put up the studio and lighting hire and they broke glass for a few hours. The images, kinetic and exciting, are also studies in the boundaries of legibility as it captures the glass at various stages of destruction.
