An evening of culture

Our friend, Shan, was playing in the Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra this evening in the Millennium Hoddinott Hall. It was an excellent programme with Malcolm Arnold Suite No 2, Grace Williams Fantasia on Welsh Nursery Tunes and the crowd pleaser Theme from Raiders of the Lost Ark by John Williams, followed in the second half, by an excellent rendering of Mahler's First Symphony. Superb music and proceeds donated to Velindre Cancer Hospital. A triumph.
Before the concert we had a walk around a very sunny and busy Bay with supper in the Cosy Club. The main is looking out across the Bay guided by the bronze statue "People like us" recognising the people who lived and worked in the multicultural Tiger Bay. The extra is the double base section tuning up before the start of the concert.
