Shiny Sparkle-Bug!

Another hot day, but the fancy bugs seem to be enjoying it. One of the best parts of high summer: dragonflies! I think of them as shiny sparkle-bugs. :-) This one seems to be checking out that lovely pink water lily . . .

P.S. Since posting this photo, I've been told this dragonfly is a male twelve-spotted skimmer Libellula pulchella. :-)
