Grampian Hairst

Now mechanised and a far cry from the labour intensive days of cutting roads with a scythe, cutting with a binder and then setting up sheaves in stooks to dry in the wind before the grain could be thrashed- all of which I am old enough to vaguely remember.
There is still something attractive about the slight of fields of round bales of straw.
