Danksound's Musing

By Danksound

Ancistrocerus gazella

I was helping my daughter in her garden today and I saw this wasp on the Marsh Mallow flowers. I haven’t seen one before so was fascinated and had to look it up. It is also called the European Potter Wasp. The female does sting but apparently it’s harmless. It doesn’t look harmless :-o

We had a cloudy but dry day which was good to work in. All the old gravel in the garden was bagged up and now we are using a garden riddle to sift out all the soil and rubbish and reusing it in different areas.
The new gravel will go in front of the summerhouse. It’s slow work but we are getting there. It rained this evening.
I had to crop the picture a lot so you can see it close up.
