SEABIRD

Double Century Twice - today is My Blip 200 in 2013 and Yorkshire CC have provided a second century as well.

As I walked on the cliffs again today Kittiwakes were amongst the birds flying high in the sky. This weather is attracting beautiful sights across a mill-pond sea - including several Minke Whale just off the North East Coast, as confirmed by a friend who owns a fishing boat. Sadly I have no Blip of this - so instead I offer Seabird !

A pet hate of mine is folk who call birds seagulls - there is no such creature. There are gulls at sea - but you get my point.
Not a lot of people know this . . . things I have discovered on this theme include :
Song to a Seagull - the debut album of Joni Mitchell in 1968 . . .
Seabird - an American rock band from Kentucky USA . . .
Seabirds - a song recorded by Pink Floyd, but never released . . .

Cricket-Wise things are in the balance again, as I write, in The Ashes Test - so I offer to you Yorkshire Cricket Club. Alex Lees became the youngest double centurian in the history of the Club. Aged 20 years and 94 days Alex, a stand-in player for Joe Root, scored an unbeaten 275 in Chesterfield yesterday. Bring it on !

I hope you all have a grand weekend !
